Alex Márquez, looking for Jerez podium

Alex Márquez arrives to the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez this weekend determined to get his first podium of the season after his 4th place in Austin.

Márquez is the only rider to have mounted a serious challenge to Morbidelli for the win this season, pushing his teammate all the way in Argentina before crashing out on the final lap. The 21-year-old Spaniard also beat his teammate to the top spot in preseason testing at Jerez, a situation he'd be happy to see repeated this weekend as the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider returns for the first European race of the season.

Alex Márquez: "Jerez is always special for me. It's the first Spanish race of the season and I like the track a lot. The atmosphere is always incredible, but we can't afford to be distracted and we need to concentrate fully all weekend in the same way as we have done at the opening three races. This is a circuit where I was fastest in preseason testing and, although racing is always different, it's also a track at which I'm confident we can try and push for the win if all goes well in practice and qualifying."
