Álex Márquez upbeat following two-day Misano Test

Moto gp

Álex Márquez was pleased with his progress during the two-day MotoGP test session at Misano this week. The premier class teams and riders returned to the Italian venue on Tuesday and Wednesday for the third and final in-season test of the 2021 campaign and the LCR Honda CASTROL rider logged some promising refinements as he got through a busy schedule.

Despite adverse weather ensuring a slow start on Tuesday, the Spaniard still managed 57 laps as he put a variety of new items through their paces. He then completed a mammoth 90 laps on Wednesday as he got down into the low 1’32s on a regular basis. Having ended up 13th on the timesheets overall of Day 2. Álex is now looking forward to incorporating the improvements at the next round in Austin.

“We’ve tried several things over the two days, yesterday I wasn’t really happy as we missed some things, but today we went in a correct way. We also tried some new chassis for us and I was feeling really good on the brand new items and great on the bike overall, which is the most important thing. Obviously, the grip level in tests is always better than normal, but we found some good things and we improved a lot to be always lapping in the 32s. Now we just need to keep working like we have and keep improving day by day. I’m looking forward to being in Austin and it will be a new track for me on a MotoGP bike.”
